The Album That Resurrected Ozzy Osbourne's Career And Introduced Randy Rhoads As A New Guitar Hero: Blizzard Of Ozz

Blizzard of Ozz is the debut album of Ozzy Osbourne since hi departure from his former band Black Sabbath. Majority of the album's songs were written by Ozzy Osbourne with guitar virtouso Randy Rhoads and bassist Bob Daisley in Wales. Drummer Lee Kerslake later joined the band through an audition. The band started recording the album on March 1980 at Ridge Farm Studio.

Blizzard of Ozz  was originally produced by Chris Changarides but the band was not happy with his work. The band later replaced him with studio engineer Max Norman although his works on the album ended up uncredited. The recording of the album did not go smoothly due to the displeasures of Ozzy Osbourne's band members. The other members specially Bob and Lee felt that their contributions on the song writing were not being credited which led to a court dispute later on. Randy Rhoads was not as vocal as the two other other  members although he was feeling some displeasures with the way things are going. Randy Rhoads knew that among the band members, he is the one who hasn't made a name for himself and being with Ozzy Ozzy Osbourne will put him in a situation where he could elevate his career which he did phenomenally later on.

Blizzard of Ozz  song's Mr. Crawley and Crazy Train were released as singles in1980 were the latter peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Chart. Blizzard of Ozz  was officially released on the 20th of September 1980 in the UK and on the 27th of March 1981 in the US. Blizzard of Ozz became a huge success in the US reaching 4X Platinum and will become  Ozzy Osbourne's best selling album.
