One Of The Most Controversial Rock Album Of All Time - The Beatles' Let It Be

 

The Beatles' Let It Be was their 12th album. The album was made after the band reunited after 2 years of inactivity. It was Paul McCartney's idea for the band to reunite and return to live performances. The rehearsals for the album started in January of 1969 and tensions within the band was very evident leading to the temporary departure of George Harrison. There were a lot of confrontations particularly between George Harrison and John Lennon that eventually led to a physical confrontation. Harrison later on agreed to the band's terms and the recording sessions resumed at Apple Studio. After a series of disagreements, Let It Be was finally released on 8th of May 1970.

The Beatles' Let It Be claimed the number one on the chart both in UK and the US and two songs on the album reached number one namely "Let It Be" and "The Long and Winding Road". The Beatles later  on won at the 1970 Academy Awards for the Best Original Song Score for the film with the same title.
