The Album That Brought AC/DC Back To Life: Back In Black Album

It was the height of AC/DC's album Highway to Hell success when the tragic death of original singer Bon Scott happened. It was a dark period in the band's history. But with the blessing of Bon Scott's mother, the band went on to rebuild.

The band with their new found singer Brian Johnson flew to London for a album rehearsal. At this point, Brian Johnson was just happy and honored for being in the band and not expecting to be one of them. Later on, the band flew to Compass Point Studios. While in the studio, Brian Johnson has initially written the album's lyrics then edited by the Young brothers. Malcolm and Angus have also came up with the song titles with a little help also from Brian.

Back In Black was finally release on 25th of July 1980, 5 months after Bon Scott's death. It topped the UK chart just within two weeks of its release. It's popularity in the United States is gradual but was certified platinum by month of October.

The Back In Black album resurrected AC/DC's after a gloom of clouds engulfed their career after Bon Scott's death. It has also transformed their band into a superstar status. Moreover, it made Brian Johnson from a nobody to an icon.
